Halo Halo Special!
Last Saturday, Dec. 19, my band Pariah, played a set at the Halo Halo Special event organized by Retribution Movement Singapore. Although we were not complete (the drummer went back home for vacation, and our DJ was not in the mood to spin), Dino, Charles and myself decided to play a World music set. It was just guitars, bass, and 3 djembes. I invited a couple of friends to play djembethe African drum with me.
Special thanks to Owen and Shylla for playing the djembe with me on that event.
Here is the gig poster.
More photos are in the Retribution Movement SG Facebook page.

Lila Drums 5th Anniversary and the Pyramid of Rhythms
Last December 13, I was fortunate enough to be part of the 5th Anniversary celebration of Lila Drums, my beloved school of African Drumming. As a treat to those who attended the celebration, we performed a Pyramid of Rhythms chosen by my teacher, Kelvin Kew.
I have been a student of Lila Drums for a year now. I have nothing but praises and respect to Kelvin and his staff, the Fanka Fellas.
These are some of the photos from that event.
Credits to Nyan Fu Keong for the awesome photos.
It was an awesome experience! Can't wait for next year's Pyramid Performance!
